Happy Chinese New Year

Woohooo…..Gong Xi Fatt Chai.

With the advice by doctor, Sylvia and I have decided to stay in KL to celebrate the Chinese New Year this year.

It was tough decision as our parents were really hoping that we can go back to Ipoh and Miri to celebrate the Chinese New Year together. I feel happy that they can understand us and support our decision. Dads and Mums – no worry, we’ll be back next year :)

Sylvia and I have been spending quite sometimes thinking what we should do in KL during this long holiday break. After considering many factors, we have decided to stay at home and cook some Chinese New Year dishes. We just miss our grandparents and parents Chinese New Year dishes.

To get the ingredients are really not a simple task. We have searched around to get fish, prawn, sea cucumber, veges and etc. It took us more than 10 days to get everything ready for the few Chinese New Year dishes.

After going through all the preparations and cookings, we realised how difficult it was for our parents to get the Reunion dinner ready for everyone in the family. Not only spending lots of vitamin “M” but also the effort to get it ready – I believe none of us will disagree that our parents always prepare our favourite dishes during Chinese New Year.  Guys, how many of us have help out the parents in this big day and how many of us have participate in the preparation?

We really had great times these two days – waking up in the morning, preparing the ingredients, cooking the dishes, eating and cleaning after the meal. We’re happy not just because the taste of the food (i was the chef :o ) but the entire process and the time we spent together in this big day. Erm….i think our princess is happy too as she kept moving mummy’s tummy throughout the meal . Hopefully she was not complaining that daddy food is not tasty :)

Would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fatt Chai!
